China Film News (CFN) is the leading industry weekly, whose refreshingly young editors have the exciting, if not always enviable, task to keep up with what is really happening in China’s film and entertainment world. They write about it every week in CFN which has been totally revamped at the beginning of 2005, introducing a more modern format and full color.

Established in 1989 as the official industry publication of the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television (SARFT),  CFN has assembled a vast information base second to none in China. This enables the journal to be on top of all trends and developments, offering insights which no other publication in China can muster.

CFN is one of only two professional publications of its kind supported by the Chinese government and the only one endorsed by the Film Bureau of SARFT, allowing it to provide its readers with the best access to the highest information sources and the most authoritative coverage of the evolving landscape of China’s film and television industries, as well as China’s own perspective on developments in int’l film and television.

Together with the recent revamp of CFN came a more outward-looking editorial policy, providing China’s film and entertainment professionals with important news from around the world in their own language. Special reports from int’l festivals and markets are an important part of the int’l coverage.

CFN’s perspective on int’l media is focused on the relevant policies, laws and regulations that effect film and television production around the globe. Today, CFN is read every week by some 200,000 film and television professionals in China.
