THE number of Internet users below 18 years old has topped 18.3 million, accounting for 14.9 percent of the total on the Chinese mainland, reported the China Youth League.

The proportion is up 1.7 percentage points compared with last November, authorities said. While the Internet meets the youth's need for information and entertainment, addiction to the Internet has seriously disrupted many youngsters' study and life, the Youth League said.
