Graduated from Music Department of Capital Normal University of Beijing, Dong Ping founded Huayi Film & TV Co. in 1996 and later established Poly-Asian Union Film & Media. Now he is the president of the corporation. The films that Poly-Asian Film & Media made have won 46 international and domestic awards. Its titles include "Jasmine Women" (d. Hou Yong), "My Father and Me" (d. Xu Jinglei), "Peacock" (d. Gu Changwei), "Love You" (d. Zhang Yuan), "Spring in a Samll Town" (d. Tian Zhuangzhuang), "Breaking the Silence" (d. Sun Zhou), "Sorry Baby" (d. Feng Xiaogang), "The Emperor and the Assassin" (d. Chen Kaige), "Devils on the Doorstep" (d. Jiang Wen), "Keep Cool" (d. Zhang Yimou). Poly-Asian was also involved in the production of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (d. Ang Lee).
