With the exception of the "Policies" category, which covers policy issues concerning all media (film and TV included), this section features non-film media forms, including print media, the Internet, cellular phones, the game industry, advertising, computer-based communication, and other emerging new media forms.

As China jointed WTO in the beginning of the 21st century, like elsewhere in the world, particularly in the United States, the media industry of China has also faced the triple challenge of globalization, privatization, and convergence. There are no simple solutions to these challenges, but suffice to say is that Chinese media are undergoing tremendous changes and transformation. This section is to offer a glimpse of this ongoing transformation.
